ABC Blessings
This year, Thanksgiving Day is on November 27. At a recent Thanksgiving brunch we were given a handout before we left to think about all of our blessings beginning with every letter of the alphabet. Since there are 26 letters of the alphabet, and 26 days of the month prior to when we celebrate Thanksgiving day, how about looking in the Bible to create an alphabetic spiritual blessing ABCs. If your Bible has a concordance (usually at the back of the book), you will find many options for most letters of the alphabet. I have chosen the words that speak most to me for the first eight days of the month. There are many others—including “Q” and “Z.” I will continue my search for blessings throughout the month. My List
November 1 A—I have been ADOPTED by my heavenly Father through the blood of Christ
In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:5-6 [ii]
November 2 B—I am BELOVED by my Lord and Savior
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience … Colossians 3: 12
November 3 C—I am CARED for by Jesus
… Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5: 7
November 4 D—I have been DELIVERED from eternal punishment through Christ
For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. Psalm 86: 13
November 5 E—I have been ELECTED as a Christ follower
Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Romans 8: 33
November 6 F—I am FORGIVEN because God sees me through Jesus.
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses …Colossians 2: 13
November 7 G—I am GUIDED by the Holy Spirit
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth … John 16: 13
November 8 H—I am HOPEFUL of the Lord Jesus’ return and eternal life in Him.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29: 11

November 23 W—washed; written in the Book of Life
November 24 X—X-ited to be a child of God
November 25 Y—yoked to Christ
November 26 Z—zealous for good works
Prayer: Thank you, LORD, for the multitude of blessings we have in Christ our Savior. Help us to reflect Your blessings in our lives into the lives of others in our day-to-day walk. Because of Jesus, Amen.
